Dear Robert and Vera,

40 years ago when my husband and I started dating, it seemed that whenever we got into the car, If Ever I Would Leave You was being played on the radio. Needless to say, it became 'our song'. Robert Goulet has played an important part in our personal history. We had the pleasure of seeing you in Camelot, the first time as Lancelot and years later as King Arthur. You were wonderful in both roles. I have admired and enjoyed your artistry since my teens. The famous line from A Chorus Line was never true for me. Bob Goulet has always been 'in'.

I know what it is like to keep a vigil at the bedside of a loved one. It requires enormous strength and dedication. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family.

Cathy T. from Ma.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have grown up hearing your voice.

DEAR ROBERT,

AS I TURN THE CORNER TOWARDS MY 60TH BIRTHDAY, I REMEMBER MY 13TH, WHEN YOU SAT ME ON KING ARTHUR'S THRONE AT THE MAJESTIC THEATER AND SANG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. THE STAGE WAS DARK - JUST ONE SINGLE LIGHT - A MEMORY THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME. I GUESS YOU COULD SAY THAT I WAS A 'GROUPIE' AT THE TIME. I HAVE BEEN A FAN EVER SINCE.

YOU HAVE INSPIRED THREE GENERATIONS OF OUR FAMILY. MY PARENTS, WHO OFTEN WENT WITH ME TO THEATER AND CONCERT HALLS TO HEAR YOU AND SEE YOU BACKSTAGE AS WELL AS MY CHILDREN, WHEN THEY WERE QUITE YOUNG, HERE IN NEW YORK FOR CAMELOT AND AT CARNEGIE HALL FOR THE LERNER AND LOWE TRIBUTE AND IN PHILADELPHIA FOR LA MANCHA. THESE ARE ALL CHERISHED MEMORIES.

NEVER HAVE I ENJOYED MUSIC MORE THAN WHEN I LISTEN TO YOU SING.

I SEND TO YOU AND YOUR WIFE MY HEARTFELT AFFECTION AND PRAYERS FOR YOUR RECOVERY.

CAROL CURCI

Hello Robert and Vera,
I wanted to let you know I am praying for a quick transplant and quick healing. Robert you have given so much enjoyment to so many over the years, unselfishly not even taking time for yourself. For that you are thanked by many. Vera, you have shared your sweet husband with us out here who listened to him in times of sorrow and happy times. For that we all thank you. My mother is in Woodbridge Nursing Facility in Logansport Indiana and she loves to listen to your husbands music. His voice has a calming effect on people.

May God bless you both and My prayers will continue daily for you both.....

Robert:

I cannot express how saddened I was to learn of your illness. You have touched my life in such profoundly inspiring ways with your acting and your music.

Your performance of Man of La Mancha was a fresh, exciting, and emotionally uplifting experience...so alive! Somehow, every time, you found new colors, new meaning, and delicate yet insightful nuances to recreate and enliven the protagonist. I believe your portrayal of Cervantes and Don Quixote is my all time favorite stage show; it is an experience to be cherished and remembered.

Please know how deeply you have enriched my life and the lives of so many with your talent. You have made the world a better place.

I pray for your rapid and complete recovery.

"Break a leg."

Godspeed,

Mrs. Goulet:

Even though I was primary caregiver for my mother, no one really can step in one's shoes to know how you feel. The fact is, you really don't feel anything when time is so precious for you and Robert.

If I possibly could, I would be happy to donate my lungs so that beautiful voice could continue to delight his audience. I am sure breathing is painful for him and pray that he will get his much-needed transplants.

I not only pray for Robert, I also pray that your incredible strength will continue and that your hopes and dreams are fulfilled.

Sincerely,

Mary Jo Kinney

Dear Mrs. Goulet,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and of course Robert. Robert has given much to the world of entertainment and I have so enjoyed several live performances as well. Robert is a master, an artist beyond compare.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Robert in Vegas on several occasions and he was always such a gentleman. He and you are both remembered in our thoughts and prayers.

I am sickened by one of the many emails you have received regarding the transplant. The man whose father was denied a transplant. I find that anyone who would write that kind of letter to you at this time is truly a very sick person. Please ignore that type of ignorance. It has no place here! Your elegant reply is applauded!

May you find some peace and comfort in the fact that so many people are praying for Robert's recovery and for your strength in these challenging and difficult times. Hold his hand firmly and remember, we are all there beside you holding yours.

God bless you and Robert,

Richard Moberger

Dear Mr.Goulet,
Whenever I hear your voice, I am transported back to a time when I was a little girl and my mom and I would sing along with you on the radio...I am 53 now. When I hear you sing I get a very warm fuzzy feeling of comfort, contentment and happiness! You have a beautiful voice! I pray that you will find the lung you need an be able to continue creating happiness in the lives of other moms and daughters and people all over the world! If anyone can be strong for you while you're waiting...it's your wife Vera! She's your rock! Much affection!

Dear Mr. Goulet,
It saddened me to hear of your illness. My father, who is just a few years older than you are, has been in the hospital since August with lung problems among other health issues. I wish you the best and pray you will get the lung transplant you very much need.

Dear Mr. Goulet,

Dear Vera,

Craig and I saw the news last night - we are praying for you both.

We will actually be in L.A. this weekend, staying at the Peninsula.

We truly hope the transplant happens as soon as possible. Please tell Robert good
thoughts from Florida are coming his way!

Dear Mr. Goulet,
I was very sorry to learn of your illness but not surprised. I have been enjoying your music since your beginning and just love music; period. Guys like you are rare birds these days so what I need you to do for all of your fans but mostly for yourself and your lovely wife is to concentrate on getting well. You have the power to do that by first giving your problem over to God. He who had made us all is best equipped to heal us. Then, after having given your problem over to Him, focus your mind on something or someone you love very much. In my case it was my three young grandsons. I focused my mind on getting well for them and I left the rest to God. In your case I believe the best place to start would be your wife Vera, then your music. Have patience because God has to work through your doctors and He does everything in his own time. Just leave it to HIM. Remember, HIS WILL BE DONE. If that was good enough for Jesus it is good enough for you and me! I had open heart surgery so I know from whence I speak. My grandsons also got a good lesson.
With love and all good wishes and my prayers for your recovery I am,

Dear Robert and Vera,

I am praying for you as you endure this dark time. I believe in miracles, and my prayers ask for this grace for Robert - and for strength for you, Vera, as you stand by his side. It is so very hard to watch a loved one and be helpless to do anything.

I met Robert in 1965 or 66 when I was a senior in high school in the Washington, DC suburbs. I interviewed him for my high school newspaper. He was an unforgettable personage in my life, and still is.

I have also sent a message to the hospital regarding the lung transplant.

Praying,,,
Linda M. Montgomery

Hello Robert,

My prayers are sincerely with you during your illness. Just keep praying and Have faith. I went through a similar experience 2 years ago and recuperated 100%. You are blessed with a wonderful family and especially Vera. That's enough to pull anyone through the toughest of times. May God bless you and watch over you. I'm praying for you.

hang in there Robert; had a heart transplant on Feb 5, 1988 at age 26- all is well although I can't carry a tune now (although I never could) - get the lungs and then listen to your doctors as you will be as good as new; the first six months you will have to give up to going back and forth to the hospital for bi-weekly and then weekly and then monthly check-ups and blood tests to get your cyclosporine and other med levels straightened out - but after that you will go back less frequently and be healthy - I am doing one handed push-ups as I write this :)

Dear Mr. Goulet,
You have given untold pleasure to millions with your unsurpassed voice. The sound, the warmth, the passion you share with the world makes me write my thanks and encouragement. My prayers are with you and your family for the gift of health and peace. I look forward to hearing you sing again!

Mr. Goulet

I became a fan of yours while I was in high school (in the early 60's). I have loved your music ever since then. Your age (73) sounds much younger to me every day (I'm 60) and I know we'll be able to enjoy your voice for many years to come. If prayers count for anything, you'll be well very soon. I pray that your lung transplant is soon and very successful.

I can't wait to hear you sing again.

God bless.

I am one of the thousands of fans who have been fortunate to hear Robert Goulet sing Lancelot on Broadway. It was 1961 and Camelot was my first Broadway experience. Another great voice, now silenced, Julie Andrews as Guinevere, and Robert as Lancelot – oh what a true joy that was. It has been a lasting memory.

I will keep you in my prayers and plan to hear your glorious voice once again.

Dick Voran

Dear Mr. Goulet,

I’m so sorry to hear of your ordeal, and want you to know I’ll be saying a prayer for your recovery. I have long appreciated your talent -- ever since I was a pre-teen in the 1960’s and had a big crush on you! You are a handsome man and a marvelous singer. Your music is among the most romantic ever record. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

Wishing you a successful transplant, and a thorough and steady recovery. God bless you.

Sincerely,
Kristine Larson Binaco Fair Haven, New Jersey

Dear Robert & Vera,

We are big fans and know your pain, our family suffered a great loss when my father passed at 48 from stage 4 lung cancer and was happiest when listening to Robert who his father had passed on these great records to him. So as a third generation Goulet fan I wish Vera and the family well wishes...Break a Leg Mr. Goulet!

You've Got a Friend in Me!

Robert and Vera,

I want to send my love and support to you and Robert during this very
difficult time. I worked with Robert on Toy Story 2 and my overwhelming
memory of the two of you is shear joy and laughter. You told me such a
funny story of when he gave you your engagement ring and it makes me
smile just thinking about it. He is so fortunate to having such a loving and
strong advocate in you and the love that you have for each other will get
you both through this. I am thinking of you both and sending my love as is
my family.

Much love and strength,

Helene Plotkin Hawk

Dear Mr. Goulet,

Sincerely,
Elaine McClure

I too, hope you are still singing at 100, no make that 150! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

In thought you are always
in His Heart
His love to you He

And when your spirit has
weighed you down

Dear Robert, This is Chris Doohan, the son of your old friend James "Jimmy" Doohan. I want to wish you great success on your surgery, as I know you're in great hands.

Best wishes. Chris

Dear Mr. Goulet,
I am so saddened to hear that you are facing such a difficult time. I will add you and your beautiful wife to my prayers and I ardently hope that a transplant is in the immediate future.

I have to share with you my " Robert Goulet" memories. As a child, my Mom had the record of Kiss Me Kate and I played the stuffing out of it. I now own it! When I got married, I had If Ever I Would Leave You sung at my wedding and I saw you when you were doing Camelot in Portland, OR in the early 90s. I literally hounded my husband ! I guess that you could say that I am a fan from way back.

I am counting on you to beat this and get that beautiful voice back into circulation.
God Bless you and your family.

Sincerely,
Diana Ward

Mr. Goulet,

I’ve enjoyed your music since I was a child and hope to continue enjoying new material from you. My prayers and best wishes go out to you and your family. Get well soon.

Dear Robert:

I am so sorry your not feeling good, I have grown up with your wonderful voice and I know you will be back as good as new soon. My Uncle told me you use to be his family paperboy, he is Larry Austin and so it has always been cool to tell friends you use to throw news papers. I will keep you and your wife in my prayers, as I to understand what she is going thru. I might only be in my 40's but I had to do what she is doing...watch the man I love and be powerless to do anything other than pray for him... God be with you both.

Susan Miller (Paradise, Calif)

Dear Robert and Vera,
My prayers and wishes for a healthy recovery are extended to you. Robert met my niece Shannon when she was 4 at the Shubert Theater in New Haven, about 25 years ago, She had written him a letter about all of us taking my mother to see his show, and she wanted to get an autograph for her grandmother for her birthday, well , he called our house and set up a meeting with Shannon in his dressing room for that evening after his performance, he had a picture taken with her and signed her program, all the while, we were upstairs, so envious!!! We will never forget this gesture, it showed the kind of man he truly is, a real man, a real person.
We all are keeping Robert in our prayers, and to you Vera to keep strong and get you both through this.We will cherish that beautiful voice forever and look forward to hearing it soon!
God Bless you both,

Mr. Goulet’s remarkable sense of humor, his ability to laugh at himself has always endeared him to his audiences has always endeared him to his audiences.

I also want to send my prayers for Mr. Goulet and yourself as you wait for a lung transplant. The entertainers of yesteryear were just that. They did not rely on gimmicks and shock (sensationalism) for you to remember them. They entertained you - they took you to a special place or moment by their song. Most, like Mr. Goulet, still have that wonderful ability to connect with their audiences as friends and continue to take us on a wonderful journey. That is all lost by most, but not all, of the "celebrities" today.
