Dear Mrs. Goulet,
I had a liver transplant in 1995. When Mr. Goulet was in Milwaukee, performing in "Man of La Mancha," I wrote a letter to him, asking if it would be possible meet him after the performance. I wanted it to be a "Thank you" gift for my husband, who is also Canadian, and has admired Mr. Goulet for many years, as have I. My husband was extremely supportive through my entire ordeal of illness, transplant surgery, and recovery, and I thought that meeting your husband would be a wonderful surprise.
Mr. Goulet was amazingly gracious and granted my request, meeting us during the intermission, and it was a red-letter moment for my husband.
I know that prayers and good thoughts work, and I am sending up as many as I can, that a donor will be found, and for Mr. Goulet's complete recovery.
Please extend our best wishes to him, for a speedy recovery. He may not remember us, but we remember him and his kindness, and always will. He is on my prayer list, and I hope to hear soon that he has received his transplant.
With many best wishes,
Debbie Seitz
I don’t know the process, or if it’s even possible. If I can give him half a lung, I’d be willing.

My prayers are with you and your family. I have admired not only your talent, but the class with which you have lived your life. May God be with you.

Mr. Goulet: I was in the Navy in the late 60's and my mother accompanied me to National Airport for my flight to Viet Nam and we stopped in the airport restaurant. My mother was very excited when she saw you and a friend eating a few tables down. I was in uniform and offered to ask for an autograph but my mother declined and said let him eat in peace. You left the restaurant prior to us and when I asked for the check the waitress informed us you had already paid the bill. As you can see that was over 40 years ago and I still remember your generosity and I have done the same thing for serviceman/women throughout my life. I pray you get the lungs you need and continue to entertain us all.
Frank
PS: I never got to thank you - Thanks for the lunch and memories
Dearest Mr. Goulet,
I have so enjoyed your work since I was very young. I hope you are able to get the care you need. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Love, Maureen Keiller
Bob and Vera,
I'm the (now much older) 15-year old who had her face destroyed in a car accident in 1968, for whom you arranged tickets to The Happy Time as I recovered. We met then, and several times over the years when you appeared in Miami.
I was so sorry to hear of your present illness. If our lives are affected by karma, you have nothing to worry about. Your empathy and concern for others, not to mention all the joy you have given over the years, will come back to you a million times over.
Hang in there, Vera. It's tough on the patient and often tougher on the loved ones. But we're with you in spirit.
Please know that our family is thinking of both of you, and wishing Bob a full recovery. You are always in my heart.

Dear Mr. Goulet,
We’re finally getting some much needed rain here on the east coast and I wish I could send it west.
Watching your film and television clips brightened my gloomy morning.
Thank you for making people smile and laugh over the years. While I’m a bit too young for a lot of your stuff, I do remember you fondly from Scrooged, Beetlejuice, the Naked Gun movie as well as the ESPN commercials (my fiancée’s favorites of all time).
I wish you the best in your recovery.
You are a wonderfully talented individual.
Kind regards,
Nicole
many years ago I had Driven down to florida from NY with my family and at the main entrance of the hotel I was putting all the debre that was created by my children in a garbage bag.A person who was behind me started talking to me about how his children do the same thing, when I stood up and turned around it was Mr. Goulet. That evening I went to his performance and took my daughter with me who was 13 at the time.He recognized me ,stopped his performance, had the spotlight follow him to my table, put his arm around my daughter{who was at that point in absolute shock and to this day has never forgotten ] and proceded to sing an entire song to her.As I am wrighting this it is bringing tears to my eyes,I as a fellow father, now a grandfather all my prayers for whom I know is a person that I at one time had the priviledge to meet.my daughter is now 45.

Dear Mr. Goulet,
I am thinking of you during this difficult time. I am sending you and your family God's Reiki healing energy. I pray for your complete recovery, as I will be waiting for you to return to Proctor's Theater in Schenectady, New York!
I have attended every show that you've done at Proctor's Theater and we traveled to New York City to see your most recent Broadway play. I was fortunate to meet you after your wonderful performance of The Fantastick's! My most favorite show is Man of LaMacha. I was completely moved when you entered the stage with your gorgeous voice and incredible stage presence.
Know that all of your fans are pulling for you! Never give up!
God Bless you and your family!!

Good morning Vera:
I was saddened to read of Bob's illness. I was a classmate of Bob (as we then knew him) at St. Joseph's High School in Edmonton, many years ago. The last time I saw him (in person) was in the early 60's in New York, but I have followed his outstanding career with interest. Ironically, I am the Board vice-chair at what is now the Sony Centre (previously the Hummingbird Centre and before that the O'Keefe Centre) in Toronto, the scene of one of Bob's greatest triumphs.
It is hard to imagine that this vital man, whom I remember both as a gifted member of the drama group in high school, and as a skinny tight-end on the high school football team, is in such dire straits. My wife Laurie and I will say many extra prayers for his recovery and return to what he loves to do.
Kindest regards,
Giles Meikle
Mrs. G,

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Goulet –
I just wanted to add my thoughts and prayers to the thousands I am sure you are receiving at this dark time. I grew up listening to that wonderful voice. I will admit to having a “crush” on you at a very early age while watching you on the Ed Sullivan show. To be frank I still have that crush.
My prayer for both of you is that the Universe helps with whatever is right and good for you. Whatever that may be. Bright Blessings!
Jane
Mr. Goulet,
I just happened upon an article about you and your current health challenges. I am praying for you to receive the transplants that you need and to regain good health.
I was born in 1958 and it seems that you were on our television set at least once a week as I was growing up. You were a regular "guest' in our home and helped define the entertainment culture of the time. What great, wholesome, beautiful entertainment it was! I'm glad to know that you have continued to bless audiences with your awesome talent.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Fondly,
Karen Champion

I'd like to take my kids to see you sometime.
God bless you and those close to you, Mr. Goulet.

Dear Mr. Goulet,
I am sending you my warmest regards and prayers for you and your family. I sincerely hope that you get the transplant that you so desparately need. My sister has COPD which is a heart and lung disease. It is an awful thing to have to see a person so young go through such trials. My prayers go out to you and your family for a speedy recovery and strength to carry you all through this ordeal. I grew up listening to you and would hate to learn that your voice would never be heard again. Stay strong my friends and God be with you all.

Dear Mrs Goulet,
I want to send my deepest sympathies to you. What you are going through must be so painful. We lost my brother (Howard) in 2000 to lung cancer and he was only 46, the pain of losing him still seems raw today, God rest his soul.
I have to tell you that I have very fond memories of Robert. I was 8 years old (I'm now 40) on a business trip with my Father and Mother in Hawaii. The company paid for the trip that is why we were there. My father made a modest income as a manager at a cookie and candy company here in Canada. We didn't have alot so it was a modest holiday to say the least.. we were there on the company nickel after all.
One day on this trip I met Robert in the restaurant at the Maui Lu where we were staying. I didn't know who he was at the time and as usual, I was wandering around aimlessly trying to entertain myself. Mr Goulet took it upon himself to invite me over to his table and pop me up on his knee and make me feel so important. He ordered me lunch and we sat and chatted for a long while. From behind he looked like my father and while we were there chatting away, my mother came in to the restaurant looking for me, our backs were to her and she shouted out thinking it was me and my Dad. Robert turned around at that instant and answered my Mom back and she just about fell over when she saw who it was. I didn't know what all the commotion was about really, I was only 8. She was a huge fan of Camelot, she sang the song all the time. She still tells the story to this day. She's now 83. Anyway, that same morning, Robert bought me the most beautiful hula outfit at the resort gift shop; top, skirt, lei and all it was beautiful, I felt so spoiled and special I will never forget it. New Year's rolled around and that night there was a Hookie Lau (not sure if that's spelled right) and I got to go up to the front table and sit with Mr Goulet and then I got to go right up front and dance with the girls in the show (wearing my full new garb of course).
If you read this and want a copy of the picture I will get it from my mother and scan it in and send it to you. His eyes were as sparkling blue as ever. My mother must have made 30 copies of that picture. It was such a great night, great holiday, he was so nice to me and made me feel so important. Even as a child, I knew he was a warm hearted, decent, and beautiful person. He even went out of his way to contact me again when he came to Vancouver, BC for a Children's Hospital Telethon (around 1982 I think). To remember me like that and call my house and invite me to the telethon, was so thoughtful of him. He's a wonderful man and I know I don't have to tell you that. My prayers are with you at this time and I am promising you that myself and my mother will be praying the Rosary and Novenas for his full recovery, it's not his time yet!!!
All my love and God Bless
Jacqueline (Jackie) Smith

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Goulet:
My name is Melody and I grew up listening to my father play Mr. Goulet's songs. What a wonderful time that was for me. Now I really enjoy and I know this sounds silly, but I really enjoy the almond commercials where Mr. G. comes to your office in the afternoon and steals your stuff! Really good, funny stuff, makes me laugh every time. Our God is an awesome God, as someone mentioned earlier and He knows exactly where and what you are going through. And best of all, He loves you and will be there for you through all of this bad time. Thank you for letting us send our love to you & your husband Mrs. G. That is very generous of you. Mr. G. hang strong, God will take care of you. Also, you better get outta there, Mrs. G is a very pretty lady if you know what I mean! All my love to both of you, Melody, St. Augustine, Florida.
Dear Mrs. Goulet,
Would the doctors treating your husband allow a donation of a lung from a living donor? I have blood type A Negative, have two reasonably healthy lungs, and would like to donate one to your husband.
I have no ulterior motives. I have never been able to carry a tune, and now I have two good lungs, and I would be blessed to offer one to Mr. Goulet. He could make good use of my lung.
I do not want money or fame. If fact, I would prefer to keep my identification confidential, except for you and the medical professionals involved.
You may contact me any time of the day or night. I hope I can be of service to you.
Sincerely,
Robin Snyder
You have always been one of the very few superstars whose talent and charisma totally complented your fame and attractiveness. May you defeat this attacker. Regardless, your talent, persona, and abilities are eternal.

Dear Mr. and Mrs.Goulet,
I want you to know that you are in my sincerest prayers that God will work
His wondrous miracles and bring your husband back to you, his family and
the world he has brought so much joy to. His voice is like an angels' voice.
I lost my oldest son at age 30, 4 yrs.ago to a drunk driver, so I know how
painful it is to lose someone you love, and I don't wish this pain on you or
your family at all. I will send nothing but positive thoughts, prayers and
energy your way. I read the e-mail from the young woman, and while I under-
stand her pain, it was an inappropriate time and means to say those things
to you, while you are enduring your own crisis. I think your response shows
what a gracious and kind and strong woman you are, and your husband will
hold on, while holding your hand.
God Bless you, Kathy Remak
Dear Mr. Goulet-
I've just learned about your illness and am praying for your recovery.
I have always loved your singing and once had the privilege of singing for YOU. Billy Graham was holding a Crusade in Toronto, Ontario in 1978 and I was in the choir for the opening service at Maple Leaf Gardens. Dr. Graham announced that you had just concluded an engagement at the Royal York Hotel the night before and wanted to stay for the service. You graciously stood and acknowledged the applause. That afternoon, we sang HOW GREAT THOU ART, with George Beverley Shea and THERE'S A QUIET UNDERSTANDING, written by Tedd Smith of The Billy Graham Team. How special that occasion was.
My favorite song of yours is IF EVER I WOULD LEAVE YOU. What a beautiful expression of lasting love.
This evening, I was also looking at the photo galleries on your web site. It's so nice to see how many people love you.
I join with many others in prayer that a lung donor will be found and that God will heal you.
Thank you so much for the many wonderful musical moments you have given us.
Sincerely,
Ms Carol Mudry
Mr. Goulet,
I just wanted to send you the best of wishes with your recent health issues. I'm only 26, but have been a Goulet fan for years. Thank you for all you have done.

You have no idea who I am but I want you to know that I love your music and your acting. Believe that if I could do it I would donate a lung to help you get well. I am 71 years old and really love to hear you sing.
PLEASE GET WELL SOON
Our prayers are with you and your family

Dear family of Robert Goulet,
My prayers are with you. Please try to ignore the nasty comments of ignorant people. God works and preforms miracles everyday, we are all GODS children and HE has no favorites, we are all his children and are ALL important. DO NOT give up, stay positive. My Mom listened to you when I was growing up so I remember what is familiar to me through her. May God Bless you Robert Goulet as he has done all these years and focus on the gifts and blessings you have received and will receive in the future. Much admiration and concern, Lauri Moccio
Dear Mr. Goulet-
I have the same lung condition you have. I hope and
pray you will find a donor and that you will be around
for many more years.
I found out I have pulmonary fibrosis about 2 years
ago. Mine seems to be stabilizing. I'm on a clinical
trial for this disease. If I have the real pill, it's
called "perfinidone."
The best to you.
Robert Billingsley
Dear Vera,
As I sit here with tears running down my face, I can't find the words to tell you what I am feeling, but I hope that the depth and sincerity of my caring is understood, despite my lack of eloquence. I think you know how much Robert means to me. He is, has been and always will be a part of my life - a part of me. He has held a place in my heart for over 40 years.
I can't imagine the world without Robert. I've sent that message to Cedars-Sinai. I included my belief that Robert is a strong person who will get past this if given the opportunity.
I am comforted by the confidence that if anything can be done for Robert, it will be - because of you, your dedication and your determination as his champion. May God give you the strength to get through this horribly difficult and painful time.
I haven't written until now because I have been at the hospital with my own husband in the ICU since last week. Thankfully, the crisis has passed and he is now on the mend. There will be some life changes, but with time he should be fine. I pray that the same can soon be said for Robert.
If there is ANYTHING that I can do please let me know.
My love, thoughts and prayers are constantly with Robert, you, and all the family.
Anne Marie MacIntyre
