Even though I have never met him...we are related to Robert Goulet through my Dad's side of the family (my Dad, Jacques Goulet) was born and raised in Montreal, Canada and moved to the States in 1957. We are cousins thrice removed. I have always taken great pride in the Goulet name and it strikes up many conversations when people ask if we are related. The Goulet's produce very handsome men !!! Unfortunately, my Dad wasn't blessed with the talent to go along with the good looks ha ha !!

My heartfelt wishes and prayers for a transplant and speedy recovery after. I can empathize to a degree. My brother-in-law Daniel Hines also has Pulmonary Fibrosis (he was diagnosed in March, we too thought it was a bout of the flu but the cough continued to get worse). It is a very difficult affliction to witness. We are also awaiting news of making the transplant list and praying for a donor (although, that is very hard to do due to what must happen to someone else in this process). I will split my prayers for a bit in the hopes they will help.

I just now heard the news of Mr. Goulet's serious
illness. I've been a fan of his since forever and
have always meant to send a note expressing my
appreciation of his fine voice, but not being the "fan
mail" sort, I delayed. However, last night he was in
a part of my dream--I don't recall the details--so I
think there's a message there.

Thank you, Mr. Goulet, for sharing your talents with
us for all these years. You're my favorite singer and
I still get goose bumps when the radio plays one of
your songs. More than a decade ago, I had the
privilege to work briefly for Carroll O'Connor during
his Christmas holiday stay in New York (I believe it
was a year before Hugh's death,) and I always remember
he spoke so highly of you. I think he enjoyed your
sense of humor especially.

My father died of Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis in 1988, after several months of suffering. Mr. Goulet was one of his very favorite singers, and I know that he would join with me in wishing you God's mercy and comfort, and hopes for the speedy location of a donor.

My daughter and I saw Robert Goulet in Camelot about 12 years ago in
Dallas, Texas. My daughter just loved the play. She was about 6 then.
We got a chance to go backstage. Robert Goulet kissed my daughter on

Dear Mr Goulet,

I was recently diagnosed with very early stage Prostate Cancer. It was a shocking diagnosis, as I had no idea I was high risk until after my diagnosis, but thanks to a very diligent Doctor it was caught in its early stages. All doctors that I have seen recommend a Prostectomy. This hasn't been such a hard decision based on an interview I remember you doing on the Today show some time ago. You were very open and matter of fact about your decisions and that memory helped me shape my own option. I am from Houston and have access to some of the finest Doctors at MD Anderson Cancer Center , and that is where I will have my Robotic Prostectomy.

My sincerest thanks to you for making men aware that they should be diligent about testing and follow up.

Dear Vera,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during these difficult times. Continue to pray and DEMAND from the doctors to place your husband on the transplant list. He has the same RIGHTS as does anyone else to receive that transplant, regardless of his age. My family and I know how difficult it is to deal with the situation you are going through.
